International Focus Area

Newfield Exploration Company is an independent crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas. Our growth strategy has evolved since our founding in 1989 and has allowed us to move into unconventional plays, lengthen our reserves life and build a portfolio capable of sustainable future growth. Our primary focus is on domestic, unconventional resource plays. These plays represent approximately 82% of our proved reserves and 90% of our probable reserves at year-end 2010. In addition, we have exploration and development activities underway in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico and Southeast Asia.
